Join us for a fun and interactive DIY workshop where we'll guide you through every step of creating your own self-sustaining, self-regulating tabletop ecosystem. Immerse yourself in this unique process of building a tropical closed terrarium, along with the knowledge you need to keep it healthy and happy. Location: The Canadian Brewhouse Okotoks Address: 200 Southridge Dr #625, Okotoks, AB Date: Monday May 26th Time: 6:30PM-8:30PM Length of Workshop: 1.5 – 2 hours Age Restriction: 13+ What's Included:   - An instructor led step-by-step workshop  - 6 inch terrarium jar with lid - 4 to 5 tropical variety cuttings/mini plants - Selection of live moss - All supplies, tools and decorative materials. - Springtails + Isopods (crustaceans) Springtails are microscopic beneficial for terrariums in several ways that helps to break down organic matter in the soil, which can improve nutrient availability for plants. They also help to prevent the buildup of harmful bacteria and fungi by feeding on decaying matter. Isopods are tiny pill bugs. These invaluable additions serve as your efficient clean-up crew, diligently consuming detritus like decomposing leaves, excess food, and animal waste. Plants, design and décor options will vary. The workshop is non-refundable but can only be transferred to another person for this event. A minimum of 6 participants is required for the class to run.
