What Calgary Is Saying About Our Workshops.

Booking a plant workshop for the first time can feel like a bit of a leap.

Will it actually be relaxing, or just another thing to check off your calendar? Will you leave with something you're actually proud of, or a lopsided terrarium destined for the compost bin?

We could tell you it's worth it, but we'd rather let the people who've actually sat at the table tell you themselves.

Here's what Calgary attendees have said about their experience with YYC Plant Delivery, pulled straight from our Google Reviews.

Here's what Calgary attendees have said about their experience with YYC Plant Delivery, pulled straight from our Google Reviews.

"Perfect for a group or to attend solo"

If you're on the fence about whether a workshop is more of a group activity or something you can enjoy on your own, Melissa Miller has been to enough of them to know the answer is both.

She's attended two workshops plus a round of plant bingo with us, and her takeaway was simple: "I've attended two workshops and plant bingo with YYC Plant Delivery and I definitely would recommend attending. Not only will you have a fantastic time but you will also come home with healthy, beautiful plants. These events are perfect for a group or to attend solo. Don't hesitate to book tickets the workshops are worth it!"

That's the thing about a good workshop: it works whether you're rallying a group of friends for a night out or just treating yourself to an hour of quiet, hands-on time away from a screen.

An instructor people keep coming back for

A workshop is only as good as the person running it, and one name comes up again and again in our reviews: Kathy.

Malaika Baptist took the Closed Terrarium workshop and didn't hold back on the praise:

"I highly recommend the Closed Terrarium workshop! It was an absolutely fantastic experience and honestly one of the most enjoyable classes I've ever taken. Kathy is an incredible instructor—knowledgeable, engaging, and supportive. I learned so much and will definitely be signing up for her future workshops!"

Lisa Maher had a similar experience, calling out how easy Kathy made the whole process feel: "Had a marvelous experience. Easy to follow instructions by Kathy the event manager. I like how all the materials are provided."

And Linda Rotstein echoed the same sentiment after her own session:

"This workshop was great. Very well organized. Lots of materials to work with and well explained. Can't wait to do another workshop."

Between the three of them, a pattern emerges: clear instruction, everything you need already laid out for you, and an instructor who makes even a totally new skill feel approachable.

Great for celebrations, not just a solo activity

Workshops aren't just something to do, they're becoming a go-to way to celebrate.

Solina M. booked the Zen Garden workshop for her partner's birthday, and it turned into a full experience for everyone at the table:

"We attended the Zen garden workshop for my partners birthday and it was such an amazing experience! The instructor was very helpful and walk everyone through each step which made it very relaxing and fun! It was a great experience for the price and I highly recommend any of the workshops if you're looking for a fun and interactive activity to do with friends or family! We will definitely be coming back to do more workshops in the future!"

If you're planning a birthday, a girls' night, or just an excuse to get a group together, a plant or terrarium workshop is proving to be a memorable and repeatable way to do it.

Variety that keeps people showing up

One thing reviewers keep mentioning is just how much choice is on offer once you sit down.

At a terrarium build during the Woman's Show, a reviewer known as Calgary Girl was impressed by the range of materials available:

"Attended a YYC Plant workshop at the Woman's Show, building a terrarium. Excellent workshop, clear instructions and lots of varieties of plants, moss, rocks, sand and wood chips."

Julia Biddlecombe felt the same after her session, noting the relaxed atmosphere on top of the selection:

"Lots of fun! There were tons of supplies for us to choose from and it was a fun, relaxed environment. The host was very knowledgeable as well!" Johnny Chung's workshop took that variety even further, giving him a choice between two different plant projects in a single session:

"Really fun workshop. Lots of variety in plant options. Really liked being able to choose a house plant or spring bulb. Was pleasantly surprised that we got to make 2 kokodema's."

Whether it's a wide table of moss and stones for a terrarium or the option to walk away with two separate creations, there's clearly no "one size fits all" approach here; every attendee gets to shape their own outcome.

From first-timers to repeat visitors

Perhaps the best sign of a good workshop is when someone leaves already planning their next one.

Jenn Turner, who attended the Live Moss x Airplant Workshop, put it plainly:

"I went to the Live Moss x Airplant Workshop and it was so much fun! The instructor was amazing and she had great supplies to build my terrarium. I highly recommend it and want to take more workshops."

That desire to come back is a common thread through nearly every review here: Melissa, Malaika, Linda, and Solina all mentioned wanting to attend again, whether it's a different workshop theme or simply another round of the one they loved.
